Celebrations are in order at Affinity Supporting People, after we scooped three awards at a ceremony highlighting excellence in the care sector.
We were named best Care Employer at the North West heats of the Great British Care Awards, with two staff members also taking top awards.
Andy Grayston was recognised as the region’s best Care Newcomer and Leah Whelan won the Front Line Leader Award.
A care team from Affinity was shortlisted for the Care Team Award and staff member Sharon Clayton was a finalist in the Home Care Worker category.
There was further success for the Springhill Care Group, which operates Affinity Supporting People, along with Springhill Care Home also in Accrington, and Birch Green Care Home in Skelmersdale.
Emma Kay of Birch Green won the Good Nurse Award, and the Outstanding Contribution to Social Care Award went to Kath Parkinson, director of quality and compliance for the care group.
Ken Nolan, chairman of Springhill Care Group, said: "I'm incredibly proud of our staff and winning so many awards across different parts of our organisation is fantastic recognition. The competition is tough and seeks to recognise and celebrate the very best in care and support in our region.
“I’d like to thank each and every one of our staff for their continued support and commitment to the service we provide for people who use our services.”
Held in Manchester, the awards are one of the care sector’s top events, showcasing the best work in the industry, with winners from regional competitions going on to a national final.
