Stuart, one of the gentlemen supported by Affinity, has been busy lately raising money for a very worthy cause.
Leyton Wright, aged 2, was diagnosed with SMA type 2 – spinal muscular atrophy – when he was 17 months old. It’s a condition which causes muscle weakness and progressive loss of movement, meaning he will never be able to walk or stand up alone without the help of an aid.
There have been lots of fundraising events to raise awareness of SMA and to help Leyton’s family fund important equipment, such as a custom built wheelchair and a supported bath seat.
Stuart recently took part in a sponsored walk along with Affinity staff member Sharon Rigby, in which they covered around seven miles, going from Clayton-le-Moors to Blackburn.
So far, over £400 has been raised, with donations continuing to come in.
Well done to Stuart and Sharon from everyone at Affinity.
